WE Tree Boston 2024 by the Numbers

Thank you to all who have supported us in so many ways!!

Here is what our 2024 looked like:

• Planted - 15 new trees, 15 new seedlings, 100 additional daffodils 

• Watered 34 trees & 12 seedlings from Apr-Dec, 3 times/week/15 gallons each tree each time - a huge shout out to our dedicated team of waterers

• Mulched 34 trees & 12 seedlings (spring and fall) - 3,400 pounds mulch

• Transformed 2 ovals to help promote health of mature trees & new ones

• Injected liquid compost to all 34 trees to give them a little added boost

• Placed 50 ‘marathon’ daffodils, 84 wreaths, 23 strings of solar lights

• Dedicated 7 trees to Florence, Maurice, Lynne & Pat

• Obtained Level I ArbNet arboretum status

• Received support from:

  • Northeastern Univ’s Arboretum staff – measuring/tagging and donating 3 more trees

  • Northeastern Univ’s Mechanical Eng Dept – developing deep watering/powered cart

  • Barrett Tree Service East - a day of free tree pruning/canopy cleaning

  • Richard C. Parasiliti Jr of R&R Farm Tree Consulting - planting training

  • James Doyle of the Esplanade - selecting the ‘right’ trees for us

  • 28 staff from dentsu,  for the 3rd time - to donate & plant 5 trees

  • 7 employees from Kymanox - to help us plant 3 trees

  • Received grants from Boston Tree Alliance, CPA, Garden Club of Back Bay & applied for 5 new grants for 2025
